FAQ

1. What should I expect from my first visit?

Your first will be your longest and most important one. During this time, we complete a thorough examination which includes history taking, relevant past medical history and conduct a physical assessment of the problem area. We discuss our findings based on the assessment and formulate a treatment plan – together. With the remaining time, we perform treatment and finally email a home exercise program to get you started.

2. Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No – you don’t. Physiotherapists in Barbados have direct access – meaning an individual can walk off the street and into the office, without a referral. We are specially trained to conduct a detailed assessment and recognize any possible “red flags”. Of course, having a referral wouldn’t hurt and we would be more than happy to communicate with your doctor on your behalf.

3. What should I bring to my first appointment?

Everything! You can truly never be too prepared. You should bring with you a doctor’s note (if you have), medical imaging reports such X-rays, Ultrasound, MRI, a list of your current medication, comfortable clothing and finally an open mind and positive attitude

4. What are your payment options?

Cash, Cheque or 1st Pay (CIBC customers). We do not accept credit cards.

5. Where exactly are you located?

We are located in the general area of the Sir Winston Scott Polyclinic. In the building between Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Blood Collection Center in Ladymeade Gardens, St. Michael.
