Our Services
At Flexx Physiotherapy, we combine proven techniques with modern therapies to deliver results-driven care. Our services include:
Manual therapy is a hands-on technique used to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It involved using the hands to manipulate or mobilise muscles, joints and soft tissues to relieve pain, improve movements and promote healing.
Commonly used for:
Corrective exercise refers to a specific type of physical training aimed at improving movement patterns, correcting postural imbalances, and addressing any muscle weaknesses or joint restrictions. The goal is to restore optimal function, reduce pain and prevent injury by identifying and addressing the root cause of movement dysfunction. This approach typically involves assessment, targeted exercises and rehabilitation.
Ideal for:
Dry needling is a therapeutic technique used to treat myofascial pain and relieve muscle tension. It involves inserting thin, solid needles into specific trigger points in the muscles without injecting any substance (hence the term dry). The goal of dry needling is to release trigger points (knots) in the muscles, improve blood flow and promote healing.
Ideal for:
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to promote healing and balance it. It is based on the belief that energy flows through pathways in the body called meridians. By stimulating these points acupuncture aims to restore the flow of qi, alleviate pain and support overall health.
Can be used for:
Dolphin Neurostim is a revolutionary therapeutic device specifically designed to produce the most effective pain and stress management. It is proven to gently relax muscles, calm the nervous system, and release endorphins – the body’s natural painkillers. Unlike traditional electrotherapy devices which apply strong alternating current (AC), Dolphin applies cellularly responsive, concentrated DC microcurrent stimulation to key acupuncture and trigger points.
Ideal for:
Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is a technique used to activate the vagus nerve, a major nerve that runs from the brain down through the neck to the heart, lungs, and digestive system. The vagus nerve is a key part of the parasympathetic nervous system (your “rest and digest” system), which helps calm the body. VNS helps regulate the body by activating the parasympathetic (calming) response and reducing stress and sympathetic overactivity.
Ideal for:
Radial shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves delivered through the skin to injured tissues. It stimulates the body’s natural healing processes by increasing blood flow to the area, promoting tissue regeneration and repair, breaking down calcifications and reducing pain signals from nerve endings.
Ideal for conditions such as:
Sports massage is a specialized form of massage therapy designed to help athletes or physically active individuals prevent injuries, improve performance, and recover from physical exertion. It involves a variety of techniques like deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, stretching and compression and myofascial release.
Ideal for:
Cupping is an alternative therapy where special cups are placed on the skin to create suction, lifting the skin and underlying tissue. Cupping creates negative pressure that increases blood flow to the area, lifts and decompresses fascia and soft tissue, stimulates the nervous system and reduce pain and muscle tightness.
Ideal for:
Kinesiology taping (KT) is a therapeutic technique that involves applying a special type of elastic tape to the skin to support muscles and joints, reduce pain, and enhance mobility. The tape is designed to mimic the elasticity of human skin allowing for a full range of motion while providing support.
Can be used for:
Compression boot therapy uses inflatable sleeves (boots) that cover the feet, calves, and thighs. These sleeves inflate and deflate in a controlled sequence to apply dynamic air compression. This technique mimics the body’s natural musclepump action to move blood and lymphatic fluid upward. This mechanism helps move deoxygenated blood, metabolic waste, and excess fluid out of the legs while bringing in fresh, oxygenated blood.
Can be used for:
Specialization
